“Wake County is the largest county in North Carolina, and when we are strong, Democrats win here and across the state,” said Decker. “If we want to win municipal races in 2025 and elect Democrats at every level in 2026, we need a party that is firing on all cylinders. That means building an organization that supports our candidates, empowers our volunteers, and engages voters every single day. When we organize, when we show up, and when we do the work together, we win.”
A committed organizer, coalition builder, and strategist, Decker has been engaged in elections since 2016, working to elect Democrats as a precinct chair, campaign volunteer, and staffer. He has worked alongside elected officials and Democratic leaders across the country to strengthen voter engagement, support progressive policies, and develop winning strategies. As a former precinct chair, he knows what it takes to bring people together, empower volunteers, and turn out voters. Most recently, in 2024, he played a key role in grassroots organizing efforts, training volunteers, strengthening phone banking operations, and mobilizing voters in critical areas.
Decker’s campaign is built on three core priorities:
Effectiveness & Coordination – Strengthening collaboration with candidates, elected officials, and partner organizations to ensure the party is strategic, organized, and using its resources effectively to win at every level.
Building an Open & Engaged Party – Expanding outreach, bringing in new and young voices, and making it easier for volunteers to get involved and stay engaged, ensuring long-term leadership development.
Rebuilding Trust & Community Engagement – Showing up year-round to build relationships with voters, advocate on key issues, and ensure Democrats are active in every corner of Wake County.
“This election is not just about electing a Chair. It is about making sure our party continues to be ready to organize, mobilize, and win,” Decker said. “We need a party that continues to welcome new volunteers, strengthens our precincts, and fights for every vote—not just in election years but every single day.”
Decker’s campaign will officially kick off on Saturday, March 15, at 3:00 p.m. at [XYZ Park], where supporters, volunteers, and community members can learn more about his vision for Wake County Democrats. Additional meet-and-greets will be scheduled across the county.
